He has just about run out of luck, caught between the Eastern Church and its Inquistion and the corruption of the current Iestan government, when a woman named Astoria appears from out of nowhere and, with a deft political touch, helps reverse Cerebus' fortunes. He is unaware that she is the leader and originator of a radical political movement known as Kevillism and also doesn't know that she is Lord Julius' ex-wife.
