I made my not so regular (about once every couple of months or so, give or take a week) trip to the not so local comic store (New England Comics – home of The Tick!) and saw the February Previews sitting on the recent comics rack. Knowing Dave Sim’s Cerebus Archive comic would probably be in it, I flipped it open to the green “independent” comics section. And right up front on page #196 I found this:

Already has six issues in the can, eh? Well, it appears rather then having me scan in the archives like we had previously discussed, Dave will be working with a fellow Kitchenerite (whatever the term is for someone living in Kitchener is) and publishing the Cerebus Archives Archive in a comic book format.

Well, at least I’ll be able to see this material somehow.

• simpsons season 11 (glove slap!), plain cake donut (a treat!), sencha decaf, prop 8 campaign can’t hide donors = yay!, happy tomorrow is fri #

So Dave today released a mock up for the alternative cover to Cerebus Archive #2 which features President Obama in a homage to Cerebus #2 cover, which in turn is a homage to Nick Fury Agent of Shield #3′s cover by Jim Steranko:

• Why can’t people learn to use a turn signal? Learn to merge properly? Learn to pay attention while driving to what they should be doing: driving?
• How cute is it that my nephew tried to grab my tattoos thinking it was something on my leg that he could remove?
• Trying to determine her sincerity is straining my patience. Why.
• It was still light out when I left work this evening. Spring is coming! It better be, as these cold snowy days are making me long for motorcycle riding weather.

You might remember a while back I posted new Dave Sim art that was to be used on a new Cerebus tee-shirt. . .Well, the shirts have been made. A limited edition shirt for now at least, and is on eBay, auction #170296104784. The maker of the shirt will be auctioning off the limited edition tees for now, so if you don’t get that one in time, just search for “Cerebus T-shirt New Design” on eBay and it’ll pop up. Though I can’t say how many limited edition tees that have been made. . .

I got my tee-shirt the other day and it is a pretty nice shirt. The printing on the back is really good for something so “busy.” I thought perhaps the rain drops would blur together, or you wouldn’t be able to read the text too well on the smaller banners, but nope – it all shows up and looks nice!
